Pain keeps coming back?
Let’s look at how you move.
You’ve stretched, strengthened, had treatment — yet you’re still adapting your life around the same discomfort. This practical workshop gives you a different way to understand your body, with coaching you can experience for yourself.

Six people. Not a crowd.
The group is deliberately small so there is space for questions, feedback and individual coaching. Select the date that works for you. Both workshops cover the same foundations.

What keeps showing up?
Maybe it’s the ache that returns after treatment. The stiffness that changes how you walk. Or the worry that you’ll have to give up something you enjoy. Choose the question you recognise.
Their experience.
In their own words.
If you’ve tried different approaches and still feel stuck, hearing from someone who has worked with us can help you decide what to explore next.

See the approach.
Experience the coaching.
The workshop gives you a practical introduction to the way we work: observing posture, connecting it to movement and trying coached foundations yourself.
These are individual client experiences of our coaching. The workshop is an introduction to the approach, with coached practice and time for your questions. Individual outcomes vary.
Understand more.
Leave with a starting point.
An introduction to the Functional Patterns approach. We look at how the body works together, then connect the explanation to movement you can try.
Explore how rib, pelvis and joint position influence movement and how common compensations show up.
Use gait examples to understand how the body transfers force and coordinates from one side to the other.
Explore why short-term relief and learning movement skills are different goals — and how continued practice fits into the process.

You’ll do more
than listen.
Watch the demonstrations. Try the foundations. Ask the questions you haven’t had answered.
The aim is to help you recognise patterns, understand the purpose of the drills and experience what coached practice feels like. We keep the group small so there is room for your questions and feedback.
Live demonstrations
Posture demonstrations and walking analysis make the concepts visible in real movement.
Coached practice
Work through selected foundations and feel how position, pressure and coordination change the task.
Your questions
Bring your own context. We connect the principles back to what you are experiencing and what a sensible next step looks like.
Before you book.
I’ve tried physio, massage and exercise. Why try this?
You don’t have to dismiss the help you’ve already had. This workshop lets you explore a specific approach to posture, gait and whole-body coordination, then experience the coaching yourself. The useful question is whether it gives you a clearer understanding and a practical direction you haven’t yet explored.
Will this fix my pain in three hours?
We cannot promise that. Pain can have several contributing factors, and a workshop is a starting point. The aim is better understanding, experience of coached drills and clearer next steps. Any longer-term change depends on your situation and continued practice.
Can I come if I’m in pain or have an injury?
Tell Essex Biomechanics about your injury, symptoms and any restrictions before booking so we can discuss suitability. This is a coached group workshop, rather than an individual medical assessment or diagnosis.
Do I need to be fit, flexible or an existing client?
No. You can attend as a new or current client. The focus is learning and practising foundations, rather than keeping up with a fitness class. If you are unsure whether you can take part, speak to the studio first.
What will I actually do?
You’ll watch posture and walking demonstrations, try selected movement foundations with coaching, and ask questions. We connect rib, pelvis and joint position to walking and whole-body coordination, using explanation and practical examples.
What will I leave with?
A clearer understanding of the approach, better awareness of movement patterns, experience of coached practice and a sensible next step to discuss. You can use that experience to decide whether you want to continue learning with us.
Do I have to sign up for private coaching afterward?
The booking is for this workshop. You can ask about further coaching if you want to, but attending does not enrol you in a private training programme.
Are the October and November workshops different?
Both cover the same foundations. Choose Saturday 31 October 2026 or Saturday 28 November 2026. Each runs from 12pm to 3pm at Essex Biomechanics in Rayleigh, Essex, with a maximum of six attendees.
How much is it, and when is my place secured?
The workshop costs £160 per person. Pay a £80 deposit through the Stripe checkout for your chosen date to secure your place. The remaining £80 is still due; confirm the balance arrangements with the studio. Selecting a date alone does not reserve a place.
What will checkout ask me for?
The form collects your contact details, chosen date and a little context about your movement problem and what you have already tried. Stripe then collects the details needed for your deposit payment. Your email is prefilled to help match your payment to your registration.
What should I wear or bring?
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, bring water and come with the questions you want answered. Check your workshop confirmation for any further preparation details.
